shoecare question - oil stain
last night some kind of oil or grease got on my cavalier whiskey leather shoes (I think it was burger grease, but idk since I didn't notice when it happened)—avg. american problem—anyway, I dabbed the spots with a bit of water and waited ~12hrs to see if it had faded and they have not, and I'm at a loss for what would be the next step I should try.
I also don't currently have saddle soap or leather cleaning products, so I'd have to order them, but if I need to, any recommendations? Would baby powder or similar work without drying out the leather? I appreciate any insights that could be shared—even if it's that I'm out of luck

Try baking soda. Or white vinegar. (But not both unless you want a mess)
how long should I give it, do you think?
Vinegar a few minutes and then dab off with a damp cloth. Baking soda I'd probably leave overnight.
Thank you!
No luck with the baking soda
