mmx64.efi - Not Found
Hi everyone,
I finally found some time to install Bazzite on my old Notebook so that I could test it while being abroad.
However, after installation I'm always getting the following error msg when trying to boot:
Failed to open /EFI/Boot/mmx64.efi - Not Found
Failed to load Image []: Not Found --> [] is a blank box in this case
Failed to start MokManager: Not Found
Something has gone seriously wrong: import_mok_state() failed: Not found
According to my very limited BIOS settings (Acer doesn't even allow to turn off the splashscreen at POST), SecureBoot is off.
Any ideas why this is happening?

So eventually I ended up booting a live system from another USB drive, mounting the efi partition that was created during the installation and copying the file in question from the bazzite install stick into the folder where it is expected . Everything seems to be booting as expected now. Question is: Why is the .efi file not created during the installation runtime? And may there be more issues with my bazzite installation that I can't see yet?

I had that error ("Failed to open /EFI/Boot/mmx64.efi - Not Found") with my Ublue Aurora installation. I had to manually create the efi entry (with efibootmgr) that pointed to /boot/efi/EFI/Fedora/Grubx64.efi (think it was that) to get it to boot. Will need to see if I can reproduce consistently and report to the Bazzite/Aurora/Bluefin devs or provide a workaround in the docs
Not sure if you will encounter any other issues, Acer is quite annoying getting things to boot but hopefully you should be good once you are in Bazzite
thx. time will tell I guess. Let me know if you need any more infos from my side 🙂
