Domain Registrar Transfer not working for single domain

Hello, I own multiple domains. I have successfully transferred a .com, .net, and .dev today, all through NameCheap, however I am unable to transfer my .org for some reason due to "Client transfer prohibited" when I have confirmed the site is unlocked and has already been Fully protected through Cloudflare (for quite a while, now). What could be causing this?

I have also triple-checked and confirmed my domain lock is "OFF".

And, just to cover all my bases, my site is unlocked on ICANN.

This is normal, you just need to wait - as per the message it can take a few hours for Cloudflare to see the change and reflect it in your dashboard. You can try logging out and back in, but in most cases, you'll just need to wait and periodically check

How long does this usually take?

From experience, anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. The last domain I transferred took 4 hours to update. I've noticed doing the unlock before logging in to Cloudflare always results in it being updated immediately, but that is obviously not possible in your case right now

Hi, did you have to update nameservers? I have a domain i bought using a SAAS software and now that i've stopped using them, I want to transfer the domain over to cloudflare. Theyve given me a transfer authorization code but nothing else. Its a .com site and should be unlocked for transfer. Just can't get it active on cloudflare

Next time please make your own thread. Yes, you need to activate the zone on Cloudflare before you can transfer the domain. So if you haven't done so already, you need to add the website to Cloudflare, change the nameservers to the ones issued to you by Cloudflare, and once that is done, you'll be able to transfer the domain.

Will do next time. Thanks for replying tho. I've initiated the transfer, but i'll need to get the saas company to add the nameservers right? because i have no access to the DNS records since all bought domains are registered under their own account.

No worries 🙂 When you say you've initiated the transfer, do you mean you've added the domain to your Cloudflare account? (Because actually doing a registrar transfer requires the nameservers to be updated and zone active) If so, yes if you don't actually control the domain as it's registered to someone else, they will need to update the nameservers, ensure the domain remains unlocked, and once they've done that, you'll be able to use the transfer code and initiate the full transfer of the domain.
