Cloudflare registrar nameserver issue
I got my domain through cloudflare, but it wants me to update my nameservers, but I cant since they are already the ones cloudflare wanted me to have. I try to add new nameservers through my DNS records, and it tells me this: "Content for NS record is invalid. NS records at the Apex have must not overwrite assighned nameservers."
What do I do? I cant use my domain for my icloud email anymore!

Hello. 🙂 I can assure you, you can use iCloud email if the domain is with Cloudflare.
When you say "it wants me to update my nameservers". What's it? Cloudflare or iCloud Email?

It is cloudflare.
Ok, very well. I can see that your name servers are setup as
Looks like the domain was registered in 2022; so I'm assuming you just transfered this into Cloudflare. So, if you're worried about that last "Add an MX record" warning... and you have been using iCloud email before (iCloud+ subscription).
You would just need to follow the setup instructions from Apple by adding those DNS records in there.
The error message says pending until instructions on the Overview page are followed. What instructions is it asking you to complete?
Well, you might need to open a support ticket.. if the instructions on your Overview page don't fix this.
If you want to keep your domain name, you must immediately contact your registrar to discuss what options are available.I'm sorry... I should have saw this earlier. Your domain is expired. Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2024-11-09T22:35:03Z (I'm also on a call for work haha, so I am a tad distracted)
I tried to find a section to renw it, but there wasnt one. Also the whois says my registrar is cloudflare.
I dont see a renew option anywhere. How would I find my actaul place I registered my domain at? I bought domain protection. I dont know where I registered it at. Even email. If I can get my email then I would be good. I could figure it out.
Actually, I found my reciept for buying my domain at cloudflare. It is definitly registered there. How do I renew it? I dont see the option.
Account Home > Domain Reg > Manage Domains > (Manage at the right side of the screen inline with the domain) > Renew
It's in Redemption Period.
If it's been removed from your account, I'm not sure what your options are.. Perhaps one of the smart ones here would know.
It was deleted the other day when I signed back in. It gave me a link to recover the domain, which I did. It says it renews for $0 in January. Why do I have a namespace issue then if it is registered in cloudflare, and it is in good standing? 😅 I am so confused.
Well, the domain is not in good standing. If you do a whois, you'll see the flags.
Ya, I saw them, but the account doesn’t show anything. I am just at a loss. I really can’t afford to lose my domain. 😅

Go to this link, it will take you exactly to the Domain Registration section of the Cloudflare dashboard where your domain should be listed. Once you have renewed the domain, the zone will start working again.
If it's not there when you click on that link, it's because you've created a duplicate Cloudflare account and added your existing domain to that new account.
When the domain enters the redemptionPeriod, it's normal for Cloudflare to remove it as a zone within a week, but it will ALWAYS be in the Manage Domains section under the Domain Registration category until it's fully deleted, so as long as you're logged into the correct account, you will be able to renew it (although you will have to pay an elevated price as it's in the redemptionPeriod).
Good to know. I don't know how CF handles their grace, and redmeption peirods. (I'm always too scared to let it get close). But, I hope you get it figured out, I know how hard it is to lose a domain. Thanks for the chat today. Cheers.
