Turning a barrier into a habitat?

Sorry, I'm brand new to the game, I've build this shape with the barriers but I can't seem to turn it into a habitat to put animals into.

nvm i didnt have a gate attatched

with all the walls selected i have habitat perimeter turned on

but trying to select the barriers just gives me this, and im unable to move any animals into it
