is there a reason to remove it?
As far as I can see you have to enable using it even if it is installed
I just don't want to have software that gets you banned. It can happen that I forget and activate it by mistake.
you have to add it into the
dxvk.conf
There to enable it
that is done per game
there is a helper script for it but it is not automatic
https://github.com/KyleGospo/LatencyFleX-Installer
is found as /usr/bin/latencyflex
in bazzite it does nothing but setup the config file
latencyflex-vulkan-layer
is a corp package that adds the binary that those configs can load
you can remove the package sure but it will not do anything than make it not show up. rpm-ostree can only fake removing it as the base image has it as part of it.
It will cause your updates to take far longer as it has to remove that pacakge every time you update your system
if you truly wish you could create a custom image that removes the steps to install LatencyFleX and the install script.
That would be best long term for you.
You could also look over the docs here https://coreos.github.io/rpm-ostree/administrator-handbook/#removing-a-base-package
using the override remove
as I said will cause your update to take much longer
LatencyFleX should not be an issue on any game you play unless you have gone out of your way to enabled ithmm. Does that mean I have to actively edit the dxvk.conf to activate it?
or is a steam command enough? I think that was LFX=1
has to be manually activated, just having it installed doesnt do anything
i dont use it myself
Okay. Many thanks for the help 👍
