Mods incompatible on cross-play - any ideas why?

Hi, I got cross-play Epic and Steam finally working - but not with mods! I do have mod-manager and mods work just fine. But when I set up multiplayer (me on Epic, other guy on Steam): He has mod-manager. But every single mod says "incompatible" (even though he has 1.0.-something). Any ideas why? Some questions: He does have to download the mods manually, does he? The mod-manager does not sync automatically? Can we add the mods later in the game, or only at start of the game? Bye Merry Christmas & Fixmas

Ask him to send debug info here to find out why the mods show as incompatible (might be because he also has a dedicated server, so SMM would install the mods to both, but they aren't compatible, in which case he has to select the server in SMM and turn mods off) And you can share your profile with him from SMM, and he can import it, but if you make changes to the list you'll have to export and import again >profiles
