XIV Launcher - Steam Compatibility tool?
Hi - was wondering if anyone here would be able to provide assistance (I did post on the XIV Launcher discord as well with no response yet).
New to Linux (well, I used it briefly well over a decade ago but this is my first time in a very long while so it may as well be the first) - so I could be missing something stupid simple. I have Final Fantasy 14 via steam and am trying to get the Xiv Launcher to work. Per their website I should be able to install it as a steam compatibility tool - I saw discussion somewhere about the standalone flakpak being broken due to a change in steam somewhere?
I followed the instructions for how to install based on the steam installation method - used the native install line. Made sure to completely exit steam and restart it - but xlcore doesn't show as a compatibility tool.
I'm more than happy to use the standalone flatpak of the launcher if it still works - but I didn't know if anyone else knows why the compatibility tool method isn't working? Or has suggestions to try?

nice job! What did you do? I had a similar issue on my non bazzite steamdeck and had to explicitly find and add xiv launcher as a compat tool
It was user error. But now I keep getting a timeout basically from the launcher during ensuring compatibility and then it just goes to cant get process handle. I'm getting close to throwing something because the "easy" methods are never ever easy or smooth for me.
