Umlauts not properly decoded
I switched my big library from Windows to Linux recently and had a bunch of albums and locations with Umlaute like 'AltmÜnster'. Unfortunately they were not correctly 'converted' or so and now i have locations like this. I don't know if there's a way to rename locations like i can do with albums, but maybe there is an easier fix anyway?

Well I kinda did nothing xD
Just backup and restore.
Ah right ill try this job thx
What job? geo data isn't a job
Ah ok so how do I re download geo data?
Trying to find it but I can't immediately 🙃
maybe @Zeus knows, it's his posts I was trying to find
Downgrading the immich version should trigger the job
Can you please elaborate a bit ? 🙂
In your env file set any release below current, ie instead of release use v1.122.3
right and the downgrading will trigger redownloading geo data, which might fix my issue?
And then i simply upgrade again?
Yep
thx will try
Unfortunately this did not fix it 😦
Make sure your postgres db support utf-8
I don't think he's using anything other than stock postgres containers? 👀
I don’t remember if you have to specify if the database supports utf-8 (database≠postgres)
Yep, i'm using plain docker compose.
The only difference was Windows -> Linux
