Steam Input not respecting set Controller Config for non-steam apps in Desktop mode
Hey all, I'm trying to setup DS emulation on my Steam Deck using a portable monitor to act as the second screen. My issue at the moment is I have to do this in Desktop mode, however starting when MelonDS from Steam in Desktop Mode, Steam input does not switch to my MelonDS controller config, instead choosing to fall back to my Desktop config. I've been looking into it for a few days now and here's a list of some things I've tried.
1. Switching to the beta branch of Steam. This seems to have solved the issue for those running SteamOS, but I noticed a few complaints that for Bazzite users it doesn't.
2. Making sure that "Use Desktop config for game launcher" is disabled within MelonDS's properties menu.
3. Re-adding melonDS as a non-steam app.
4. Re-installing MelonDS from flatpak.
Nothing works. I have this same issue on mGBA as well also installed with flatpak, however another flatpak app doesn't have this issue (Duckstation). I'm open to some suggestions on what might be going wrong, or any alternative solutions. At this point I'm considering adding a Gamepad layer to my Desktop Config to just switch to when I'm doing this, but I would prefer to find some way to fix this.

ask valve to fix steam input
we do not develop steam
Ah so it's definitely related to steam then?
Or rather, on their end?
