Quick and dumb question about ties
I have noticed that some ties end with a flat end rather than at a point, I'm wondering if there's a specific word or category for this for me to add to my vocab for shopping/discussing. Couple examples provided in the pics. In the Wonky fit from today it almost looks like there's a clip creating that end, am I seeing that right?

knit tie! sometimes called sock tie
it is supposed to end in a square at the bottom-no clip needed
gotcha, thanks so much. I guess the clip I see in Wonky's fit might be for the keys, or just a normal tie clip
very much appreciated
idk which one is wonky but i also see 0 tie clips in these images
first image
that black bit at the end kinda looked like a clip
obviously on the left is the keys
i think that may be the skinny end of the tie peeking out from behind
yep starting to think the same now that I really stare at it
only wonky would know
!
@Wonky hello, very specific question about your fit pic if you have the time
I am staring very closely because it rules and will be taking inspo
and anyways thank you all for the help I think my question is pretty much answered
in the strictest sense they're flat end ties
knit ties are super cute. been hunting for one myself on ebay
knit is the most common (and imo the best) but I've seen other materials; this one is silk for example
nice, yeah I'm glad knit ties came up anyway, I'm looking because I like how they come across a bit more casual. knit ties do that in texture on top of the flat end.
It's a normal square knit tie! The clip is my keychain attached to my belt loop
noted, thanks a bunch
And yeah there are a few square end ties that aren't knits, try searching rooster tie on ebay to see a few
