Hi guys , I install bazzite on my legion go as a second boot and I have Onexgpu that works in windows. However it seems the bazzite doesn't utilizing the power of egpu...is there any thing that I missed to make egpu work in bazzite?

Ok thanks I am waiting you
Are back? @Valerie
.
Hey! Not yet, but make sure you install LACT, I'll go into more detail when I'm back
Ok
Can I make work on external monitor?
@HikariKnight I got this
Reboot
Ok
When I keep egpu connected and rebbot ..Is it normally takes some time to reboot ?
@Valerie .
As long as it boots sure
It goes [email protected]
@Valerie
Mine was outputting at this stage, what GPU is this?
Onexgpu that have 7600m [email protected]
@Valerie
Does hotplug work?
E.g. boot, switch to desktop, then plug in the GPU?
Also, is the GPU connected to a display?
Ok, and it is not connected t external display
If you're booting into game mode you should have an external display connected.
Ok I will try
The Lego and external display goes dark
Hm ok, try hotplug
What does it mean hotplug
Unplug the eGPU, turn the legion on, switch it to desktop mode and plug the eGPU in
Ok
And then
Is it working?
Outputting anything to an external display?
Yes desktop mode is on the external display
Hm ok
Could you open LACT and see if it shows up there?
I sorry but how can I open LACT?
It works
Hm ok
Is the power limit for the GPU correct?
Yes
what's the output of
switcherooctl
?Is there a way to enable Rebar?
It should be enabled afaik
Try putting
switcherooctl 1 %command%
on the game you want to play and see if the performance is any betterHow
In game properties
In desktop mode?
Yes
Ok
The only way I got game mode working is with this:
https://github.com/ewagner12/all-ways-egpu
GitHub
GitHub - ewagner12/all-ways-egpu: Configure eGPU as primary under L...
Configure eGPU as primary under Linux Wayland desktops - ewagner12/all-ways-egpu
Problem is, it's janky and currently desktop mode is broken for me on my iGPU
I don't know if I can 100% recommend this as a setup
Oh I see some people talk about it
But it will break the desktop mode?
Is that what you are mean?
I am sorry If I was not understanding you,but it is first time using Linux
Yep
Ok
The game doesn't lunch
And
cd ~; curl -qLs https://github.com/ewagner12/all-ways-egpu/releases/latest/download/all-ways-egpu.zip -o all-ways-egpu.zip; unzip all-ways-egpu.zip; cd all-ways-egpu-main; chmod +x install.sh; sudo ./install.sh user-install; cd ../; rm -rf all-ways-egpu.zip all-ways-egpu-main
Oh
Thanks
And then
@Valerie .
Should be able to open it in your start menu
So, if rebooting now it will be in desktop mode ?
Have you run all-ways-egpu?
You need to configure it
Yes I have and that what I got
You ran that from the start menu, like this?
Ok
I got this
Can you do
cd ~/bin/
and then ls
?sudo cp all-ways-egpu all-ways--gpu
Ok
And then
?
Try running it from the start menu again
Which one?
I got numbers
1
y
and then just press enter until it shows a different kind of prompt
n
N
y
y
Press enter to retuern to the menu...I press it
@Valerie think the switcherooctl command is
switcherooctl launch %commmand% 1
I'm pretty sure past this point if you shutdown, replug the eGPU and turn the legion go on game mode should start on the GPU
Ok
I will try
Should I keep external display connected?
Yes
It work
Sick
But in internal display
Game mode is on the legion's screen?
The external is black
Yep
Did you reconnect the GPU when the legion go was off?
No
Right, do that. I did instruct so here.
Ok
It worked for but not
It keep trun off an on multiple time now
But if I keep this open it is stop turning off
@Valerie
I don't know what you mean
Is VRR on?
FreeSync?
No
I'd ask here https://discord.gg/mER8dt8c
They have an eGPU channel with people who know more than me
I'm not sure what's going on here
Ok thanks for your help.I might make you fell boring
Thanks
Sorry I couldn't get it working properly, I don't have much experience with this stuff
It's quite jank and even my setup isn't working 100% as it should
But overall thaks
