Install issues

Attempting to install Bazzite over Mint in a dual boot configuration with Windows 11 for the remaining Windows games I play on my PC, so far I keep running into "Error checking storage configuration" I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong but this is what I see before I see the error, happy to VC on phone to help with this if necessary. Hardware is AMD 7900XTX gpu and AMD CPU Ryzen 9 7900 32gb ram

I replied on your reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/Bazzite/comments/1hg592e/install_issues/ But I'll put what I said there here too. Looks like you are trying to do manual partitioning. There are multiple partitions that you need to make, and you definitely don't want a 173GB EFI partition. Have a look at the docs https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/dual_boot_setup_guide/#b-same-drive-method for the sizes that you need to make each partition and a link to a Youtube video where you can follow along with the manual partitioning steps

Getting past the "Error checking storage configuration" error when ...
I have seen a number of users getting the "Error checking storage configuration" error when they are trying to install Bazzite for the first time, especially when they try and dual-boot with Windows. In this video, I'll show you how to reproduce the issue and after that we'll look at setting up Bazzite with custom partitioning, so both Windows a...

The exact error message would probably be helpful. And maybe a screenshot of the partition sizes that you went with

The Bazzite installer (which is the Fedora installer) is rather limited with it's partition management... Just boot a live USB of Mint and you should be able to remove it in Gparted. Be careful though, that 8TB disk is listed as the first disk in the system and Windows loves putting it's files into the first efi partition it sees. If you take out the 8TB drive, does your system still boot? Also, is that 8TB drive a HDD? Atomic based distros tend to run very slowly on those.

8TB is SSD, windows still boots without this drive. Disk 1 was put into this system 1st and is a NVME drive

Perfect. Try remove the 513 MB efi partition in Gparted then try the installer again.

I did a video a while back where I used gparted to get rid of a bitlocker partition https://youtu.be/FBGLLkIKp-w the concept would be the same for removing your resistant EFI partition. Just be careful when doing any form of OS installations or partition tweaking as things can go wrong.
