Audio Cracking Issue over HDMI specifically when at 4K 60.
I am running Bazzite with an Ryzen 3 2200G and a RX 580. It is connected through HDMI from the graphics card to a 4K TV. Basically, when I use 4k 60 output on audio through HDMI, it has significant audio cracking with kind of an up-pitch. If I put it to 1440p 60 or something lower there is no problem. There is also no problem with audio using headphones. I do not believe it is a hardware issue, as this same system had no problems with audio on windows. Thank you so much to anyone that can help out!

Could be an issue with hdmi and amd on linux specifically
Cause ive seen tons messages about hmdi 2.1 being unsupported by amd on linux
And just general issues on linux
This is HDMI 2.0 but I'm guessing that could still apply
Do you think that getting a Display port to HDMI adapter cable could fix this?
Yeah it might
I wouldn't go out of your way to buy one just to try it out
but if you already have one then doesn't hurt to try
Also nice to see another Outer Wilds player!
Just got the DLC so excited to get into it : )
Niceee
I havent gotten to finish the dlc 😔
I totally should just been busy
Don't worry lol, I played the base game a year ago and finally getting back into it for the DLC
Ah okay
Lol
But yeah, I don't have a cable specifically. My PC has been kinda weird with audio where both the onboard audio jacks and using a USB C to audio jack adapter is statticy so using that for audio input doesn't really work. The audio also routes through a receiver, which further complicates the audio.
Just debating between dealing with windows as a TV box or lowering it down to 1080p 60 for bazzite.
Ah
or trying to find some fixes like the cable
So using some speakers probably wouldnt work?
It would kind of work, just it'll be staticky. Also we have a surround sound setup for this TV which I was hoping to use
ah
yeah makes sense
it seems like a bandwith issue but I'm not sure
the cable should be fine too
You said it works with windows right?
I mean the uh
hdmi cord audio
Yes
yeah
I feel like displayport adapter is probably a good thing to try but tbh I'd wait till someone else sees this for a second opinion cause im not all that confident
alright, thank you!
