Gaming mode no longer works

I setup my Bazzite install to launch into gaming mode but lately it has been booting up to desktop. Whenever I click the “Return to Gaming Mode” icon the screen turns black then goes straight back to the desktop.

My system has a 7900XTX and 9800X3D and gaming mode did work correctly at first before this bug.

means its crashing in gamemode. try resetting steam
NOTE: this will remove all of the steam client files and log you out of steam and then re-launch steam to get fresh copies of the steam files. it does not touch proton, prefixes, installed games or savefiles.
