Bazzite was never an option to boot after installing it on micro sd card (ROG Ally X)
So, I've followed the guide multiple times to install bazzite in a separate drive (lexon 1tb microsd card) and it has never showed up as a boot option in the rog ally x bios. I've also tried choosing fedora in advanced startup options and it always just boots to windows. I can see the drive in disk partition management and everything looks fine but I can get my rog ally x to boot into bazzite. Did I do something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Rog Ally and the Rog Ally X does not support booting via microcd card. That is a feature that Steam Deck has and some other devices but it's not common that you can boot via MicroSD.
Also the Bazzite maintainers don't support booting Bazzite from External drives and MicroSD slots, so if you do get it to work and something goes wrong, you kind of on your own.
Also be careful about trying to run a full operating system on a MicroSD card, you'll burn it out in a few weeks/months.
Did not know this was the case, thanks for the heads up. Might have to partition my ssd then 😅
hardware capable of booting from sd cards is rare, mostly because the OS has to be tailored for sdcards (raspberry pi OS), bazzite is not and will happily destroy your sdcard.
we only support internal SSDs. you can try external ssds but YMMV and you will get no support since running the OS from external media introduces way more variables for what can be the cause of issues.
