Apps not functioning after update
I just updated everything through "Discover" and upon finishing, certain apps suddenly stopped functioning.
Browsers: All crash upon booting, except for Steam's internal browser
Discord: Boots but the window is completely black (including the update window)
VLC: Plays audio fine but videos show as completely black
I attempted to reboot several times including the alternate boot option (1) instead of the default (0) with no luck on fixing this

Sounds like all your flatpaks are failing to start. Try run a manual
flatpak update
and see if there is anything outstanding in the updates. then try and launch the applications againhttps://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1074422586894712912/1317726467802665021
latest mesa broke rx 580
or broke polaris
Returned with "nothing to do"
you need to rollback mesa
see message i linked
How- oh okay
Apologies... Discord mobile doesn't play well with linked messages so I can't view it
Its worked fine in mine but i forwarded it too
Ah... I have to type all this into console?
Yes
You might prefer to copy and paste it π . You can paste in the terminal SHIFT+CTRL+V
I can't access discord on the computer
@wolfyreload
Good point. hmmmm... You could try
sudo systemctl enable --now sshd
then you can just SSH onto your pc from your phone or another pc and paste the commandsI'm likely not smart enough to do that lol... It looks like I typed the first one successfully
Onto 2/4
Good luck π
Ok got all 4 in, discord still showing up black so I restarted and still not having anything show up
Okay huh, the browser activated safe mode and I can now use it through that
The only addon I have installed is Ghostery
(using Librewolf, but firefox was also not starting)
now in updates it has all the updates I manually overrided, so I assume I did that correctly
I see a check at the top, this didn't get marked as solved did it...?
Double checking some more apps:
Krita - Hangs after creating a new document
OBS Studio - Opens 20 windows on launch before crashing and closing all those windows
Retroarch - Crashes on launch
Everything else seems to work fine, but anything using more advanced graphics outside of steam crashes
you could also try
sudo flatpak repair
I'll try it
No luck
Ok good news they updated their own repositories!! Looks like everything's working again!
