Budget Mens Dress Shoes
What type of Mens dress shoes do you guys recommend on a budget (within $100)? Hopefully one that is relatively durable.

Honestly just go to your local Nordstrom rack and see if there’s any decent models from brands such as Ecco
That’s what I used to do when I just needed smth for cheap
Another option is second hand if you aren’t in a rush. You can get nice Goodyear welted leather shoes for that much on eBay.
Whatever you can get locally for $100 that looks just like this. Ecco or Clarks are probably decent options.
Or if you have time and a bit of patience get something second hand.
This. They probably won't be terribly durable, but they'll last you a year or two easily.
The cheapest recommendation for "well-made" dress shoes is usually Meermin, and they are about $200
Another alternative is Thursday boots. There’s a handful of boots that can pass for semi-formal, and I’m pretty sure they make a dress shoe too. (I’m wearing a slightly more rugged shoe from them right now).
You can find them on eBay for around the $100 mark (if you know your size and how they fit), but I agree that if you need them in the next week or two, Nordstrom Rack is probably your best bet.
thursday sucks shit from ass actually
I’ll disagree until I hear a convincing argument. Most reviews have them as solid budget shoes and I haven’t seen anything but an occasional anecdote otherwise.
they're ugly and the co-founder is a right wing shit heel
Who cares what "most reviews" say? If you manage to peer through the PR machine and actually get a look at the boots they sell, they look like shit!
There are so many places to buy dress shoes from. Why would you choose a brand that doesn't specialize in them and, as an added bonus, indirectly support the alt right?
if ebay is an option brands like gh bass, allen edmonds and sometimes aldens go for under $100
Thirding the suggestion for secondhand shopping. You can get some really nice pairs if you are willing to scroll through search results for an hour or two.
fwiw i mostly use the put this on ebay filter
still worth checking the listings themselves for the condition of individual shoes but that serves as a base for "good" brands
don’t buy fucking Thursday dawg
I’m not pinging this guy bc I’m not talking to him, I’m talking to you OP
don’t buy Thursday
This is the first I’m hearing about literally any of this. I like the way they look, and haven’t heard anything about the owner’s politics. I’m not doubting you, but do you have any evidence so I can update my views? A bunch of people yelling “they suck, they’re ugly” doesn’t change my opinion much, but evidence of alt-right politics would.

so i went through the bones of checking thursday's awful mobile website and they had no dress boots (in the traditional sense, meaning oxfords)
if @Zfrocc was interested in such a dress boot then brands like allen edmonds and beckett simonon are good options in line with the actual item
I found some decent listings, but I can’t seem to find my size : 14 wide or 15 wide
what brands? you can post the pics if you don't want anyone to snipe the auction
(if anyone has questions on why thursday boots are bad they should be empowered to make their own thread in #questions-and-advice )
Are there options for wide versions of sizes because my foot gets cramped in my current size 14 shoes
Thanks for the info, I probably won’t be buying any more, but I’m not gonna burn the pair I own or anything. It’s unfortunate because I do like the looks of some of their models.
how wide are we talking (E, EE, EEE)?
was the size based on your foot being measured or by trying on shoes?
This is based on the shoes that I have currently
it's worth getting your feet measured in person if possible to be sure so you're not suffering in too tight shoes
found this, a 14E, 14EEE and a 15D (if the issue is a 14 being too small all around) https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/mens-carlyle-plain-toe-oxford-dress-shoe-3022770/black-leather-ec4002103
allen edmonds park aves go up to 15EEE in length/width - if you live near one its worth trying on in person
under 100 for 14E+ is rough tbh
i think ecco or clarks or your local department store will also have wider sizes available as well
if this is a shoe just for special occasions you can try one of those, but if it's meant to be an everyday shoe for work you'll probably want to invest more money into them
