Are Cloudflare's name servers correctly added to your registrar?
Yes
I had support at WIX confirm everything is correctly in place
They are telling me that the domain never propogates with the records I've input
Try setting the Proxy status to Unproxied (:grey:) / DNS-only.
What does that do?
well, whatever that does it didn't help unfortunately
I'm still having the same issue
OK.... JK. It just took a bit but this solved my issue
Thank you @DarkDeviL
I'm curious. Only by setting to unproxied then your issue is resolved?
That's unclear
I also removed extra NS servers earlier today
So it may have updated late
but it's working now
It's ok. You can remain as unproxied since Wix should have its own defence mechanism against malicious traffic.
Should I set it back?
Not necessarily in my view.
from wix: "A proxy acts as an intermediary between your site and the suers that navigate on it, so in this case as cloudflare mention on WIX we already have our protection methods so if you decide to leave it unproxied it won't affect your site. "
So I'm leaving it as unproxied. Thanks for your help
When having Proxied (:cloudflare:) DNS records, Cloudflare will respond with it's own IP addresses of the Cloudflare Proxy, when people (or tools) are making DNS requests to figure out where your website is hosted, so that they can connect to it.
So if you are onboarding your domain(s) to some hosting provider, and that hosting provider (e.g. their tools) are checking whether your DNS set up would be done properly, according to their expectations, - they will NOT see their own IP addresses on the DNS records you have marked as Proxied (:cloudflare:) DNS records, and as such, your set up is not done according to their expectations, and isn't done properly (according to them), since they see other IP addresses than their own.
With some providers, you may have to keep your DNS records set to Unproxied (:grey:) / DNS-only.
Where with some other providers, it may just be temporary, so that you can set Unproxied (:grey:) / DNS-only during the onboarding process, and after a while, when they have confirmed the onboarding is successful, then you may be able to switch it (back) to Proxied (:cloudflare:).
