Data model existing objects can't be changed

I get there are basics for the data models that need to exist in order for the system to work but I can't edit any field from any of the standard data models. For the opportunities for example, I just want to have the precise date as opposed to the relative date currently shown. That's impossible from what it seems. Is there any way to bypass this lock?

Create a custom field with the date. I hear you - and I've run into similar frustrations - but creating a custom field is really the answer - while protecting the internals.

@Led-0806 that's because if you choose to see relative date, you automatically changes it to ALL fields with type date or datetime, not entirely sure if that's expected @charles should changing display to relative date be applied to all fields of type date/datetime or only for field where this change was made?

Hi ! The ability to have a different display for a date field should be introduced in the next weeks (see open issue). However I am not sure we will allow changes on the standard fields (@Thomas ? I think we would have an issue at sync-metadata, unless we exclude the settings from the comparison) fyi @Guillaume
