Clicking steam from menu doesn't open it. Trying from terminal shows no output.
I was able to install and run it from a flatpak, which I'm fine with doing but I'm not sure if this will cause any issues.
and show nothing.

Fresh install, only image on drive.
why are you running Steam from a flatpak?
Because as mentioned in the title, the pre-installed steam on the image doesn't do anything. It doesn't open, theres no logs from the terminal, nada.
So I installed it from a flatpak just to see if it would run (it does)
Run
bazzite-steam
and see if behavior changes
Also make sure there isn’t a stalled process before doing thatTry
ujust fix-reset-steam
yo lets go that worked.
so what was the problem? steam install happened to get borked for some reason?
yep
that just wipes out your local steam files
minus games
