Footwear for rain/snow/slippery sidewalks

Looking to get some nice shoes for hitting the town this holiday season, but will definitely have to contend with snow, ice, slush, and the like. I’d like something that will hold up, but mainly something to keep me from falling on my head and ruining NYE. When I say “nice,” I’m basically excluding sneakers and work boots; my standards are pretty low. Something I can wear with a sweater and/or blazer. Budget is $200 and, if we’re up there, I’d have to be absolutely bowled over by the shoe. Thanks, folks!

Oh damn, I didn’t even know about those! Already liking what I’m seeing. Was not familiar with the term. Thank you!

Bluestones are a good choice although it depends on your definition of work boot.
