Google Chrome Is Now an Anime, in Japanese Shorts Starring Sumire Uesaka
🌟 Google Chrome Becomes an Anime! 🌟
Google Japan has unveiled two mini-anime shorts called "Gambare! Kūromu" (Do Your Best! Kūromu), starring a cute Google Chrome mascot named Kurōmu (say it fast, it sounds like "Chrome" 😉). Voiced by Sumire Uesaka, the first episode highlights Chrome’s sharing feature between devices, while the second showcases its security and translation tools. Both feature segments of the theme song “Ganbare! Kurōmu” by PinocchioP! 🎶
🎨 The origins of Kurōmu are as unique as the mascot itself! The character began as a viral post during June 5's "Logo Mark Day" in Japan, where the Chrome logo's gradient sparked fan imaginations. Fast forward to October 17, Google Japan launched an art contest, inviting creators to design illustrations based on Chrome's handy features—such as password memory, device synchronization, and translation powers. The results were adorable and led to the creation of these delightful shorts! 💻✨
While only two episodes have been released so far, fans are crossing their fingers for more! 🖤 This isn't the first time technology has been transformed into anime—Microsoft and Apple have also ventured into anime-inspired mascots before. What do you think of Chrome’s anime debut? 🚀
