Freeze then disconnect
Basically, im using a host for a 1.20.1 forge server. But when i try to connect the most i can do is load in immediately freeze for 20 seconds, then i just disconnect due to a timeout. The host specs are fine, my ping is fine, and my internet is fine. I have flushed my dns, disabled firewall and antivirus, yet nothing has worked. Anyone know why? Theres no disconnect message. It just says "Disconnected".

Please check your server log for errors from your plugins.
If you need further help understanding the errors, please send us the whole log file.
Where can I find the server log?
Logs are stored in
<server_directory>/logs/
. Search for a file explorer in your server's management interface and navigate to that directory. Once you've opened that up, search for the latest.log
file. Some providers have a separate page for logs and may hide the "logs" folder.
On Aternos:
ā¢ Go to https://aternos.org/log/.
On Minehut and server.pro:
ā¢ Go to the "files" tab in the left menu.
ā¢ Navigate to the root directory of your server.
ā¢ From there navigate to /logs/latest.log
.
What should I do with the log?
ā¢ First of all, read it! I mean, that's what you do all the time when you run a server, isn't it? Try to locate any errors that have anything to do with the issue you are facing.
ā¢ If you got the latest.log
file or created a .txt
file with the necessary errors you can upload these directly to the channel, but we prefer if you upload them to https://mclo.gs/.
ā¢ If you have trouble downloading the log file, copy/paste the text to a paste service (like mclogs). Copy the link that it gives you and send it to us. (Don't worry, McLogs hides your users' IPs.)Admincraft Canned Responses

@ššššš¹ššš·ššš Ya there?

nah
Your connecting IP/port is
127.0.0.1:35600
Is this a service provider server, or one you locally host?
Or do you have a proxy involved in this setup?
Your logs state:
You're attempting to connect to a forge server, which has mods, using a vanilla client?
And the server is kicking you, as your client can't speak the forge handshake
@Paiim not?
Are you connecting with a forge client?
literally using th
e
o
And do you have all the mods the server has?
Because the server is stating your client is vanilla
And isn't responding to the mod specific handshakes
im literally using the cureforge app
so yeah
pretty sure im using forge :D
Curseforge != Forge?
You can have forge packs on curseforge
and vanilla ik
You can also have vanialla clients on curseforge
fabric too
and neoforge
But yeah, im pretty sure id notice if the mods button on the home screen was missing
Can you show a screenshot of the mods tab within the client to show these mods are on the list:
sure
when im home
And if you have the forge client with all those mods, I'd check your client logs, as the server logs show nothing outside of the reject vanilla message
(which may just be the server saying "as there is mod channels registered, reject vanilla clients")
