Is it possible to simplify Dual booting instead of having to go to BIOS to choose the OS?
As the title says.

you can use refind
https://sourceforge.net/projects/refind/ @Malkozaine
SourceForge
rEFInd
Download rEFInd for free. An EFI boot manager utility. rEFInd is a fork of the rEFIt boot manager. Like rEFIt, rEFInd can auto-detect your installed EFI boot loaders and it presents a pretty GUI menu of boot options.
when you boot, it'll let you choose what operating system to boot, without having to go into the bios everytime
Ok, how the hell do I install it with secure boot enabled?
I think secure boot has to be disabled
This, no refind with secure boot
@indigo, @Kyle Gospo would you guys know how to get the touchscreen or controller on a Ally X to work with rEFInd? Keyboard works fine, but I can't use any of the controls on my Ally to select an OS. Only time they work is if I go into BIOS and then directly go the rEFInd after that. I'm guessing its an issue of waking the controller up?
Welcome to the problem of dual booting without using the bios boot menu
I think if you press volume up/down (one of em I forgot) while it’s powering on, it’ll bring up a boot manager and you can just pick from there using the d pad
thats the bios boot menu
I know I’m just tryna instruct em on how to use it
If i'm remembering right, I think the Ally requires booting the bios before the controller is usable to select an OS. It's just how Asus configured the hardware.
They can’t fix that in a bios update?
If you planning on being in Bazzite most of the time and Windows only sometimes, you could try this ujust script
ujust setup-boot-windows-steam
which will add a "boot-windows" script in your Steam. So then you always in Bazzite and you can do a once off boot to Windows when you need itI would think.
I'll give that a shot, thank you
Hey thanks man, it worked like a charm
