OBS Stream Error - Nvidia
I've installed Bazzite last week and I'm just testing streaming on OBS but I'm getting this error. I have a 4090 Laptop. Looking at nvidia-smi - my driver version is 565.57.01 - Do you have any idea why I'm having this problem? Encode is set to NVENC.264. Recording works perfectly if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

There is a seting for tthe enhanced boadcasting in the stream section of OBS id suggest disabled ehanced broadcasting and try it again
Thanks for the reply, do you happen to know where that setting is? I only have the option to use a stream key.
normally it would look like this
do you have obs 30.2 version?
Yeah that's how it looked on my windows install. - Yep, 30.2.3

Installed from Flatpak
hmmmm
what gpu
4090
oh right
the heck
Going to reinstall and see if it changes anything
oh its a win only feature
soo another idea then
close obs and reopen, then make it produce the error (by clicking start stream i assume) after the errors apppear close then then go to help and click upload current log, and then click analyze. this will open a url in browser. this looks at the logs and gives you an indication of what is tickin off obs

Scanning the full log now, it's recognising the graphics card and drivers at least
id go back to 29 latest stable and try it
or pre v32 where enhanced broadcast support is added in
Sorry I'm really new to linux (literally installed last week!) - is that something I can do in discovery?
oh right flatpack only has the latest vers?
As far as I can see. I tried installing the Ubuntu version using BoxBuddy but that failed at install
Awesome, thanks. I was just reading the flatpak docs as you sent that
so try flatpak install flathub com.obsproject.Studio//31.0.0-rc1
i think thats the correct tag for that version
point being is that the new enhanced broadcasting could be tripping up that newest version of OBS in linux. unless there is a driver issue, and apparently nvidia linux drivers are complete dookie. so my thought is, if you go to a pre enhanced broadcasting version maybe it wont have the issue
Yeah that makes sense. The command failed but I'm looking around for what it could be. Thanks for your help
have you seen this command rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-nvidia:stable

Oh that looks like it might help because when I checked the version of my nvidia drivers that came preinstalled, they were listed as beta on nvidias website
If i'm understanding what it's saying correctly 😄
Honestly, I'm enjoying the learning process but after knowing windows inside out and coming over, I feel like a proper dumbass at the mo 😄
and to commisserate with you. Im a pc tech from wayyy back so i like to help when I can but im no master around linux, I just have decent skills when it comes to software problem solving
It's running through now, will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for all your help
'fraid not! Same error and the driver version is the same (565.57.01) - Thanks again for the help. Much googling ahead for me!
driver version is the same? did you do a restart?
Yep
Weirdly, I switched the streaming config to youtube, then switched it back to Twitch and it worked. How bizarre
Score!
for future reference someone was getting the same error on macos and this was the suggest from support on github Please create a new profile in OBS with a simple scene setup (single scene, single source) using the Twitch test video and attempt to stream to Twitch with that (using just the stream key) and provide the OBS log URL if the attempt fails.
