Every time I turn my computer on, I need to go into desktop mode and fix the resolution

My TV is 16:9 1920x1080. As the title says, every time I turn off my computer the image doesn't fit my TV when I turn it back on. Everything is slightly too big, the UI on all sides is cut off, and I have to go into desktop mode, change the resolution to something else then change it back to 1920x1080 and then the picture fits. I am at a loss, this is a brand new system. When I first booted it, it scaled to my 1440p monitor perfectly. But now it doesn't work on my TV. I'm on a Ryzen 5 7600 and RX 7800XT. Any help is appreciated.
Solution:
on the tv remote the button to adjust overscan is often labeled aspect ratio or zoom from my experience (keep in mind though i havent touched a tv in like 10+ years)
