Frequent crashes on new Bazzite install (Steam gaming mode)
Hi, I am new to Bazzite so apologies if I am missing information you need. I have built a new PC with all new hardware (ASUS B550M-K, 32GB ram, Ryzen 5 5500, WD 2TB NVMe) and a second hand Radeon RX6700XT. I have installed Bazzite on it today as an HTPC, so it can boot straight into steam ganing mode to give me a console-like experience. I really haven't changed much in Bazzite. I disabled an audio adapter so that it would use the correct one when it boots. I think I installed DeckyLoader but I haven't used it (not sure what it does yet).
So, I installed "Apotheon" thinking it would be a quick install and is well supported game to try out, but 30 seconds or so into the opening cut scene my screen went solid bright green and the computer crashed.
I rebooted and I tried changing the resolution of my display in the steam settings, which worked for a few seconds then crashed in the same way. Then for a while I could not get the machine to boot at all, and was on the verge of reinstalling. I briefly went into "rescue mode" from my Bazzite install USB drive, but I didn't change anything.
It eventually booted up again, but it crashed in the same way again. Then it booted again and I changed the resolution setting back to auto.
Then I installed "Mark of the Ninja" and ran it, and it also crashed about 30 seconds into the opening cut scene.
I don't know where to go from here. I don't know what's causing the crashes. I expected the experience to be a lot more stable than this.

Might be worth making a Windows-to-go with Rufus if you have a fast external SSD. Then you can eliminate if it's something in the hardware or a specific Linux/Bazzite issue.

I had a similar issue where my computer would randomly crash with the lightest work loads that used the GPU. It turned out to be that my GPU wasn't seated properly. Might be worth unplugging and plugging in the components again to eliminate that as a possibility
I'll try that, just in case
I tried checking the GPU is seated properly, and then tried to run a game. It crashed before I even got to the opening cut scene this time, so no improvement

Yeah, that was my thought as well. I will try running windows on it today and see if that is stable
There was much crashing in Windows too, so it is a hardware issue
