Chunk Pregenerator question (+Oracle server question)

Heyo, everyone. I was recently tasked to set up a modded Minecraft server for a small bunch of friends (4 people on average, 7 at absolute most). I don't usually play with mods so I apologize if these are very simple questions. First time setting up an MC server so I'm a novice in all of this. I set up the full Oracle setup (4 cores, 24G RAM on ARM), running on Forge for 1.20.1, and it seems to work out fine enough. Unfortunately, I am in Toronto and my users are in south(west) USA, so the ping starts to get pretty high (anywhere from 4000 - 10000ms) given the distance + the mods we have. Assume for a moment I can't remove any mods. I've looked into Chunk Pregenerator, and it seems like something that might benefit us given the mods we have. What is the best way to pregenerate chunks? Some players stay together, but a few go off on their own, is there a way to generate along the edges of the chunks that have already been generated? (I thought expansion would accomplish this, but I am unsure :dead:). Aside from chunk pregeneration, any basic tips to reduce ping (on an Oracle setup)? I feel like I'm missing some sort of basic network setting for the Oracle server, but I have no idea, haha. Any tips appreciated. Thank you for your time. Sorry for the weird formatting and no logs or anything, I'm currently on mobile. :flushedflat:

best way is to pregen, say, 7.5-10k with Chunky (mod, best pregen mod there is) and set a worldborder to reduce ping…. Try get things like packetfixer on the client and server, try run an MTR etc

Thanks for the advice! I'll see if I can set it up when I get home. :) I've heard Chunky being mentioned a lot, how come it's better (if you happen to know)? Or is it just the most commonly supported?

Chunky uses some specific algorithm that makes it faster iirc

Perfect, I'll take a look then

Trying to use Chunky, it always seems to hang at around 29.75% and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I've checked the FAQ and tried messing with Aikar's flags + some of the mob changes for Iron Spellbooks but nothing

This is a crash log from when I left max-tick-rate to default, not sure if it really gives out any info (+ disabled Canary and ModernFix, which were originally highlighted as potential problem mods...but nothing :dead:)

Got this Spark profile from before the server crashed too, but I'm honestly unsure if it means much either
