Do my pants look too wide and how do I fix the thickness of the cuffing?
I bought these 17oz selvedge denim jeans from a denim maker in China. Quality is amazing but is it just me does it look too wide?
My style revolves around Japanese City Boy looks but I'm starting to try Amekaji looks. Any thoughts for improvement? I'm looking at bringing the pants to a tailor.

I think the jeans are fine. To my eye it's the chunky cuff that's making them look wider at the leg opening
This is just 2 folds and I've seen people do 2 folds only. Not sure how they make it look clean. Do they iron the cuffs?
I have ironed in the past to help. You can also do a method called a Tokyo cuff that lets you take more length out without having to cuff as much
Alright I'll try this. Thanks for the tip!
To go back to the width though. If I look at the first picture, if you look at the leg width above the cuff it looks really good
I'm guessing these are brand new as well so still have some stiffness to them? They will drape nicely with a little wear I think
Yeah they're still pretty stiff (it can actually stand on its own lol)
I think you'll be good then, after 2 or 3 washes you should have all the shrink out of the inseam as well so you could always get them hemmed
I think I'll wear it for a while for now until this happens. I'll try the Tokyo cuff as well.
Thanks again!
You're welcome! 🫡
ya the width looks good!! i think there's just maybe a bit too much fabric in that cuff but whether you hem or wash or beat em up it will improve with time
@Soup @ler thank you for the tips. I was able to fix it now. Looks amazing.
oh hell yeah, they do look amazing
