Disk Write Error when trying to download Proton Hotfix/Experimental

I got Bazzite up and running, but when I try to get Proton Experimental and/or Hotfix I eventually get Disk Write Error. I am using Bazzite on my Ally X. I partitioned my SSD so windows and Bazzite have their own partitions, and also made another in exFAT so windows and Bazzite could share an steam install directory. Any help would be helpful.

Don’t share exfat. That’s asking for trouble

Is there anyway to make a partition that can be shared between Bazzite & Windows?

Btrfs or ironically NTFS with proper precautions Exfat will just not work when you try to play in Linux

Can windows see Btrf? What do I have to worry about with NTFS and do I have to do anything with it to share the "drive" between OSs?

There’s a winbtrfs driver

To the same point above, exfat does not support symlinks at all, so games will not run with Proton

Got it, anyway to change the partition type without nuking the partition?

There's an NTFS -> BTRFS converter, but it's beta quality at best I'd recommend you nuke it no EXFAT -> BTRFS

I guess it's time to break out my 4tb SSD I haven't installed into my PS5 yet.

Not sure I can answer on an "old" topic, but I was having trouble with an ntfs drive and tried to follow the steps on the link, and now I'm lockex out of my bazzite

I can't type anything in this window windows works just fine, and the games I already had installed do so as well I did make some alterations to my sudoers to enable restarting to windows through an shell script

this sounds like a completely different issue than the one in OP. you should create a new thread with the relevant information

will do just replied here because it was a side effect of the same issue, so it might have been well known
