NYE clothing styles
or what do you guys wear when you want to dress up but not look stuffy?
This is an area I feel like women have a lot more options. They have a version of dressed up for work/funeral and a version of dressed up for getting after it, dancing, partying, etc.
I feel like my options are a "nice" t-shirt which feels too casual next to my wife in a sultry dress or a button up shirt or ocbd which feels way too stuffy for partying on NYE.
I sometimes go with a knit polo in these types of situations, but since we're gonna be dancing a good amount on NYE, I feel like that'll be too hot.
Going to not-quite-a-club, not-quite-a-concert, but my question can encompass a broader range of situations.

NYE is a celebration/party therefore I bring out some funky shirt I have and dress it up a little bit. It is usually really cold where I am from during NYE and most people hop around a little bit going from place to place so I definitely also bring a blazer and a jacket to keep warm
I don't really dance that much during NYE nor spend time at a club, so I get where you are coming from. Maybe a shirt with a nice pattern/colour or a white dress shirt instead of an ocbd
Like a complicated shirt?
NYE is the perfect excuse to dress real slutty
That's kinda what I'm getting at. That's certainly what my wife will be doing. Just feels kinda hard to dress that way as a guy, at least a straight guy.
i think you were fine just leaving it at "as a guy"
there's a wide gulf between 'not looking stuffy' and 'dressing slutty' but the lowest hanging fruit is probably a button down with the first couple undone
this thread has a lot of thoughtful discourse on dressing provocatively from straight men and people who aren't straight men alike https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1233809888002441336

I like using material and especially texture to dress up, but I'm often aiming for sensual more than slutty. love a sheer long sleeve, a silk satin tank top, or a patterned shirt unbuttoned & worn with multiple necklaces
The cut stays pretty classic and the textile and accessories do the talking
