Caps Lock Delay Issue
So a minor but kind of annoying issue I've found is with the caps lock key. It seems to delay activation switching between cases, or maybe only activating on "release" of the key instead of immediately on the "press" of the key like I'm used to in Windows.
Basically when I put my password or type anything, I move my other fingers fast enough that the 2nd key will still be capitalized, which makes typing repeated things like my password annoying. Feels like a delay.
Any fix for this in options somewhere? I have Bazzite Gnome on one computer and Bazzite KDE on another, both seem to do this.

This is an issue that affects almost all known Linux distros. I noticed on the first day of myself using Linux, actually! I used to use caps lock instead of shift, and when I installed my first Linux distro, Pop_OS!, I had to begin shift instead because of this caps lock delay issue. It was my first day of Linux, and wasn't technically adept enough to look into solutions, so I just gave up and switched to shift.
Unfortunately, I don't have a solution, as I haven't tried to fix it myself. From a quick web search using the terms "linux caps lock delay issue", I did find a couple solutions, but they all relied on modifying files that are read-only on Bazzite. But there might be some solutions out there that would work, so I hope this helps guide you in the right direction
Yeah, I tried doing some searching myself, and got no great results. I guess I'll just do the harder thing, and get used to using shift keys. I just have so much muscle memory over the years using caps lock, even if it's a bad habit.
Looks like caps lock enables immediately on keypress. But for deactivation it waits until the key is released. On Windows it toggles immediately on keypress for both enabling and disabling. I think that might be what is throwing you rather than a delay
I have the same thing and it throws me off so much 😠I wish it was fixable
you can tweak the caps lock behaviour in kde
What would you be changing exactly
well to whatever behaviour you expect?
I mean, fair
lol
@Yeah, that's why I thought was happening when I searched the issue. I just didn't know if there was any setting that replicated that behavior on Linux doing the immediate toggle instead of the release of the key doing the disable.
I've seen that KDE menu, and tried checkboxing a few of those, but the descriptions of the behaviors didn't really let me know which would do my desired behavior of the toggle happening on press. Wasn't sure if it was that simple or not.
This is why I asked lol
