Personal Drone (Defender) ignoring enemies

Been using this for a few days now, Defender seems to ignore the stingers most of the time and hatchers (both the base and the bugs) all the time. Sometimes the Defender will target the stingers and kill a few of them (never a whole cluster), other times it will only target them after I've killed one or two myself and then it will kill one or two on its own. Most of the time, however, the Defender just ignores all the stingers. I haven't been able to get the Defender to target the hatchers or their spawn at all. Spitters and Hogs are targeted and killed without issue. Also, the damage stat doesn't seem to increase with levels, though mine is only at level 7 (I think) so maybe I haven't leveled it up enough? I have tried searching for a config file that I could edit as well as manually triggering combat (Attacking the monsters first) and restarting the game. I am playing with passive mobs, if that matters, I'm also playing single player.

Solution:

Good to know Arramors, i will review the targets from the defender and its damage. I think it still using 0.8 list of enemies.
