Nvidia driver stable branch?
Hey everyone,
I started using Bazzite. The general experience using the OS is great, however I'm having major stutter issues in games. From what I'm reading online, this might be an issue with the current Nvidia beta driver Bazzite ships with.
Why does Bazzite's stable channel ship with a beta graphics driver to begin with? Is there a branch I can use to not be served beta drivers? And is there a way to downgrade the drivers without rolling back the entire system?

because the current stable nvidia drivers on linux have a massive RCE that nvidia wont fix on the stable version IIRC
there are probably some other reasons too but thats one of the ones i remember was talked about when the beta was released.
no way to downgrade the drivers as they are part of the image
oh dang, that is one valid reason indeed
so beta drivers are only included under special circumstances?
this is the first time we used beta drivers
but we also changed from rpmfusion to negativio17. i havent really touched the nvidia stuff
i have no idea what those are
but that's great to know about the drivers, thank you very much for the answers
its 2 different repositories
We use Negativo as our repository for them
What is marked stable there is at the discretion of Negativo's maintainer, who is a Nvidia employee
