Bluetooth doesn't work without going into Bluetooth menu
Something strange is whenever I boot up/wake up my htpc with bazzite my Bluetooth Xbox controller doesn't connect. The second I navigate to the Bluetooth menu though it connects instantly in less than a second. I don't have to click on it. Is this a well-known bug? Is there a fix?

It seems it has similar behavior in game mode or KDE. Devices are able to connect just fine but don't reconnect automatically as they should. Same behavior reproduced with two xbox controllers and a mouse.
It's especially painful with game mode since the primary way to control the box is the controller and it will not reconnect even after simply timing out.
No fix yet, I had to reinstall the OS for a different reason and the issue still persisted, might be some sort of weird interaction with the hardware?
If I didn't have a steam controller this would be infuriating

I'm using the onboard bluetooth on a Gigabyte motherboard. It did work for quite a long time on Bazzite previously. Probably like 6 months.
I think it's part of the wireless chip which is an Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3168NGW according to LSPCI

Someone said something in the main channel about this being a KDE problem...didn't get any more explanation but figured what the hell and tried rebasing to gnome. It didn't fix it. Doing a reinstall with bazzite-deck-gnome now because I really don't know what else to try.
Same behavior with a fresh install of bazzite-deck-gnome.

I did remember I had an old Xbox wireless adapter and it seems to be working for now so that's half the problem for me I guess.
I have a Gigabyte z490 aorus elite AC, installed bazzite nvidia and bluetooth works 25% of the time, something must have broken recently because i installed the gaming mode version back on march 2024 with the same mobo except i had an rx 6800 and it worked perfectly.
If i use the dongle my controller has for the 2.4 Ghz mode then it works flawlessly. Same for my keyboard
Yeah I wound up just switching everything to wireless dongles.
