Cafe Racer leather jacket sizing advice
Hey, I checked out a brand new (it's used but only worn like twice) Schott 530 cafe racer leather jacket (so not worn in).
It's a bit of a more modern cut compared to other motorcycle jackets, I'm not a slim guy, but not fat either.
According to Schott's site, size L should fit me nicely, this is the size I tried today.
However, it felt very snug, with just a t-shirt it was definitely better, shoulders width was perfect, but I had trouble moving my shoulders back/forth. I'm used to snowboard/sports jackets so I can barely even feel the jacket when I move normally. I don't know how a leather jacket is supposed to feel like.
Does the leather expand so much that I it really feels like a size up, or how come this is supposed to be my size?
Can my body type affect the fit so badly? I have some lat muscles, maybe they are blocking the movement.
I really like the jacket, but my gut feeling says it's too snug. So unless somebody here says that it will expand by a few centimeters over time I won't go for it.

It wont noticeably expand, no. Cafe racer jackets do run slim as a style but that just seems too snug
pics would help a lot but I agree, sounds too small for you
some pics with, some without hoodie
my requirement is that it fits with a hoodie 😄
first pic is the furthest i could put my hands forward comfortably, without fighting with the jacket
second pic is the furthest back i could go without "fighting"
in hindsight it visually looks like it fits quite nicely?
I would try a size bigger if they have it. If you want room for a hoodie that complicates things - like Jawn said, cafe racers are cut slim and not designed for heavy layering. I would try a different model or maybe a different brand entirely.
