How to Configure 1 org with magic link auth and all other orgs with MFA

Hi there, Currently, my default auth is set to use MFA. Since setting this as the default auth, we are needing to add support for external users (document signing) which will be added to one org named "External". Instead of using MFA for users in the External org, we would like to use magic links. How would I accomplish this. Thanks!

Hi @Kenton , You can utilize Kinde's advanced organization features. Here's how to set this up: 1. Enable Advanced Organization Features: - First, ensure that advanced features are activated for the "External" organization. - Navigate to Organizations in your Kinde dashboard. - Select the "External" organization to access its details. - Click on Authentication. - In the Activate advanced organization features section, select Activate. https://docs.kinde.com/authenticate/custom-configurations/advanced-organization 2. Configure Authentication Methods for the "External" Organization: - Once advanced features are enabled, you can specify the authentication methods for the organization. - Within the Authentication settings of the "External" organization, choose the desired authentication methods. - To enable Magic Links, ensure that Email authentication is activated under the Passwordless section. https://docs.kinde.com/authenticate/authentication-methods/set-up-user-authentication 3. Set MFA Preferences: - Since you prefer not to enforce MFA for the "External" organization: - In the Multi-factor auth settings of the "External" organization, ensure that MFA is disabled. https://docs.kinde.com/authenticate/multi-factor-auth/mfa-per-org/ 4. Verify Environment-Level Settings: - Ensure that your environment-level authentication settings do not override organization-specific configurations. - Go to Settings > Environment > Authentication. - Confirm that the global settings allow for organization-level customization.
