Sweater sizing over a shirt
Hey guys, sizing question. My chest is 40" and I wear Contemporary 16-33 in Spier Mackay shirts.
My question is, what chest size would you get in Shetland sweaters to be able to wear them nicely over a shirt?
If my shirt is a 22" half chest, would you go 23" on the sweater, or more?
Also, do you size your sweaters differently for wearing over a shirt vs. over a more fitted t-shirt? (like, size up for wearing over a shirt)

I would measure a sweater you already own and like. If you don't have one, 23" might be fine? Hard to say because shetlands are thick. I would size for the biggest thing you want to wear under it, so yeah your shirt. For any wool sweater I would wear at least a long sleeve tee under.
