mod activation: permission denied
hey, i have a little problem using the SMM.
i have an ftp server which directly opens the folder where the satisfactory server is located but when i try to click on "Mods on" i get the field in the screenshot.
i can enter the ftp server via ftp-programs and make new folders there but not here
Solution:Jump to solution
Try to create the Mods folder inside FactoryGame in the server dir through a FTP client, with the same credentials you provided in SMM

It looks like you have not yet generated the debug info file!
Please do as the mod manager requested. Click the "Generate debug info" button and send the zip file in #help-using-mods otherwise we will not be able to help you!

You just mentioned the name of a hosting provider (low.MS) that does NOT support modded Satisfactory dedicated servers! Check the list here to learn more. https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/ForUsers/DedicatedServerSetup.html#UnsupportedHosting

do i need anything else other then the SMM on my pc and the ftp connection to the server ?
i heard i need the manager also on the server ?
are you using low.MS as your host?
you don't need the manager on the server, but the manager needs a certain level of access to the server
im using a linux server at home
well, the ftp server has access to the folders so i dont really understand whats wrong
does it have write access as well as read access?
i created an folder to test it so yea it has
and the connection is working, otherwise i couldn't get the logs via the SMM
Getting the logs is still a read, not a write though
ok then... do i have to create folders ? right now there are no mods on the server
or would the SMM have create folders ?
Solution
Try to create the Mods folder inside FactoryGame in the server dir through a FTP client, with the same credentials you provided in SMM
See if that works
ok i see... i have rights in the main folder but not below...
good, thats easy then ^^
yep, that was it ^^
thank you for the help thinking ^^
