Thoughts on Fit and Cut of Vintage Sport Coat.
This is a vintage 60s or 70s wool sport coat that I thrifted a while back. I really like the pattern and material but am curious your thoughts on both the cut and fit.
Fit: shoulders seem good, sleeves are a good length, maybe slightly tight around the waist?
Cut: it has shoulder padding so I normally would wear it with wool trousers or chinos. Do you think the shoulders are too rigid? Also, this coat buttons lower than my other jackets, curious of any thoughts on that.

imo it's a little tight around the waist and the button stance is a little low
The button might be low based on the angle of the photo
It looks a bit tight but wearable, not too noticeable. Otherwise it looks good
the shoulder looks fine with that amount of padding imo, unless you wanted a fully unstructured jacket
The button stance is lower than what I'm accustomed to, it's not just the photo's angle. Thought it could perhaps be a cut more popular when it was made, but IDK.
i had a couple 70s era sport coats with a similarly low stance (one pendleton, one MTM blank) which similarly didn't feel "right" to me
it's workable imo, and depending on what you wear the button stance may not be an issue
I don't think it looks bad it just looks different. Though I benefit from having a long torso so the button is pretty close to/ just above my natural waist.
Thanks for your input!
Button stance is CRAZY and it def looks a bit too slim, but I think it fits pretty well otherwise
It's a bit slim, but seems within the realm of tailoring. It's definitely vintage with that low buttoning point, but honestly looks quite good
