Elwood and Length?
Anyone ever buy stuff from Elwood? I really like their "core tees" both short and long sleeve, as well as their lounge shorts. Everything they make is kind of long and baggy, which is an aesthetic I like. But for whatever reason, I just bought some hoodies and cardigans, and they have them cropped so short at the waist. A normal "L" size hoodie from most anywhere is going to be somewhere around 29" in length, but for example, I bought a "L" size hoodie from them that ended up measuring like 25" which seemed comically short. The fit and the sleeves were perfectly nice, but my shirts peeked through at the bottom, whereas every other hoodie I own covers my shirts completely. I ordered a cardigan from them which was the same story. Great fit and sleeves, but it felt like the botton was almost "cropped" and all my undershirts peeked through the bottom pretty dramatically. Just a head-scratcher.

The Elwood hoodie is the white and brown one, the other is an example of a normal, black hoodie I often wear. Notice how much longer the normal hoodie is. I've rolled up my shirt in a stupid looking way, fyi, only to show for the picture how far the hoodies fall past the beltline.
Idk what to tell you, they're marketed as cropped and they have the exact measurements on their sites. This is why we recommend never going solely by the the tagged size and always reading size charts.
They're not marketed as cropped, actually. Their hoodies do come in a "cropped" version but this is not that.
This hoodie inparticular is noted as a "loose hem" but not described as "cropped."
Well, at the end of the day it is what it is. I'm just wondering what the point of making a hoodie that short is lol. Like how would one actually wear this.
🤷♂️cropped is very much on trend rn, fwiw the one you've pictured isn't unwearable by any means, it might just take some getting used to, or the style just might not be for you.
I wasn't aware cropped was trending rn but idk
This is the level of peekage I get from their "Jagger Cardigan" and it seems dramatic
that looks kinda cool imo
This is my favorite cardigan. See how it completely covers the shirt I'm wearing? That is what I'm used to.
i think it's a hoodie that requires some intention, especially in the underlayers
Yes, that's true. Might not be stuff you can "slap on over anything." Might be dedicated outfits that are only compatible with certain things.
whether that's a longer shirt or a cropped shirt, as in the model pics, is a matter of preference, but like carrion said it can take some getting used to
I always think of hoodies and cardigans as the former, but in this case, might be the latter.
Yeah the model here is wearing a much shorter tee than I would normally wear
Comically, he's not wearing an Elwood tee lol
moreso they can be both, depending on the person and depending on the context
Elwood tees are very long
some people wear them as functional layers
some people treat them as the main component of a fit; in that case i think a long tee would work well with it
or you could just tuck in the tee
I wish I had taken a pic, I don't have one on hand, but it looked kind of silly to me with a long tee. Just had a dramatic amount of tee coming out at the bottom of it, made it look like I was basically wearing a crop top
Which, if that's what you're going for, great lol
Not what I'm going for though
i'd take a look at fits from people like char or sinchad or #waywt or #inspiration in general, as cropped outerwear can manifest in different ways.
but it might just be a case where this isn't the ideal sweater for you atm
Yup, just gotta experiment. The drag that is shopping online 😮💨
Happy Returns is making things better these days, though, in that regard.
FWIW lots of people want the croppped look and I think it looks cool
If you don’t like it you can always return it
But yes look at measurements
And no company will have the same fit with every product
