Laptop screen not being disabled with lid closed and connected to external monitor

I am having an issue all of a sudden with the 41 update where when I close my laptop lid while connected to an external monitor, it blanks the screen, but doesn't auto-disable it like it used to. Anyone know what I might check? It was working before and I have minimal changes to the logind.conf

[Login]
HandleLidSwitch=lock

I am using the default UPower.conf also

Any ideas? I am still having this issue Specifically, I plug in an external monitor, and close the laptop lid. It does not turn off/disable the laptop screen.
