try reinstalling anticheat with a batch script
In which directory do I launch the .bat file from, and is it safe to run?
it is safe to run (you can check what it's going to do yourself by right clicking and selecting "edit"), you can run it anywhere but to be sure place it in the same directory where "BattleBit.exe" is located (game folder)
place it in the same directory where "BattleBit.exe" is located (game folder)especially if it detects game path as
""
I'm sending it
looks good, it should prompt you to reboot the PC after finished
In that case, I will do that
Looks like all went well with this (hopefully). I'll reboot my PC now.
Bummer. This did not fix my issue with BattleBit. π¦
This is the error I still get, for reference.
could you try reinstalling the game from X: drive to C:?
I suppose I could. It's only 2.5GB, right? π
:CatYes:
also, are you on W11?
Installing to C: drive now
My PC's operating system is Windows 11 Insider Preview version. I am locked in on it basically because I don't want to hard reset my PC and lose data. π
found a war thunder thread with same issue, it seems like an windows update causing this
Same exact issue with the game installed freshly on the C: drive. :c
Well this is sad news. π¦
press Win+R, paste
ms-settings:windowsupdate-history
and see if there was an update recentlyMost definitely, there were.
i see, were you able to play the game on Oct 29?
The last I was able to play the game was on 09/26/2024 as far as I'm able to recall, thanks to instant replay screen recordings.
Solution
could you try rolling back those ones?
(look them by KB number)
I'm not really sure how to or if I can.
I can only find the first one shown in your screenshot also
you should see "uninstall updates" if you scroll down to the bottom
or just open cmd.exe as an admin and run
wusa /uninstall /kb:5045934
and wusa /uninstall /kb:5044376
Yep, I can uninstall the first one there
do that and see if that helps
I actually see and can uninstall that 2nd update mentioned as well now in the uninstall section
Uninstalled both
oke, reboot PC now and try launching the game
I'll have to reinstall it. I don't want it on my C: drive. :lmao:
sure
Heck yeah mate! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to have helped me. Uninstalling those 2 particular Windows updates has solved the issue and I can play BattleBit again. π
glad to hear, enjoy the game
Went into Windowed mode to show ya. Thanks again. :Sadge_pray:
