Candidate Interview Red Flags (Interviewer Perspective):
This was touched on in previous vc discussions about interview red flags. There's a list of red flags some companies are monitoring now that so many job applicants have been caught cheating. I made some notes of them and I can share them here.
1. Consider asking more open ended questions that can't be copied into any AI assistance tooling.
2. Paste your problem statement into ChatGPT yourself to be able to identify its solution as its element will be the same to other users who are submitted.
3. Ask the candidate to describe the solution and designs in detail. If they're unable to articulate the reasoning they may not have aided in developing it.
4. If the candidates use advanced syntax or functions from the standard library, but can't describe what they do. This is a big red flag.
5. Assuming that the candidate has their cameras on, be sure to observe if their eyes wander back and forth in between typing.
6. If there seems to be a significant delay in candidate responses, there's a possibility that the candidate could be receiving audible aid through a headset.
7. Should you ask a candidate a question and they provide a vague response, but yet they provide an excellent answer 20 to 30 seconds later, it's possible that the candidate was asking the same questions to ChatGPT or an assistant and were waiting for its response.

So what’s the best way to use AI to help with coding test while on screen? Without getting caught of course. @elloH
u mean while ur sharing ur screen?
I haven't tested them during live technical assessment but there are tools like Sensei AI or LockedIn AI that let you download their chrome extension
Run the extension and if you're on chrome you can set a hotkey/shortcut for the extension through chrome://extensions/shortcuts
Have the website to SenseiAI or LockedInAI open in another browser tab on another monitor, and run your shortcut on the assessment tab while you are sharing your screen
The extension will screenshot it and start generating an answer based on what is on your screen, and I'm not sure because I haven't tried it but it may also have the context from the interviewer's questions as well
When I did some testing on my own, it seemed like the screenshot doesn't necessarily capture all the context though
Also when an interviewer asks a question, I feel like there are unspoken expectations hidden within the question.
Like the interviewer can ask you to write a query but they don't tell you how they want it to be written. You have to ask the interviewer to clarify how they want you to do it so the AI can pick up that context
LockedIn AI also has an online assessment mode where instead of listening to the interviewer's voice for context, it listens to your voice for context
So what you can do is you can turn that on, repeat the interviewer's question and clarify any additional context you think the AI needs
Sensei AI can currently only listen to the interviewer's voice for context, it doesn't have the online assessment mode feature yet
They both work similarly. Sensei AI is much cheaper than LockedInAI though, you have to pay for credits for LockedInAI, 1 credit = 1 interview min I believe

@sunny
Looks god
Another thing worth noting. These tools are running in the browser so when you share audio there will be a notification banner shown at the top of your screen saying you're sharing audio to Sensei AI/LockedIn AI
From the LockedInAI discord:
I just realized that creator of SenseiAI is in this server, if you have anything to add feel free @Emi lmk if anything here is inaccurate
@Ethan check this out, u can also ask the support for tips on your usecase in LockedIn AI discord, they're very responsive. Even if you're using SenseiAI, just act like it's for LockedInAI both tools function very similarly

But you can only share the entire screen with system audio on Windows operating system, not on mac. Mac you can only share the chrome tab to get the audiolinux also has this issue. windows ftw for interviews I would use windows + windows vms if vms are needed
