cannot install SMM on WinArm system
I'm a player using a surface laptop, which has a windows on arm system. Last month when I tried to install SMM, it turned out that I cannot install it in a regular way. So I've searched reddit and discord, and someone provided a special version. In this version, a terminal and devtool show when launching SMM. That special version SMM worked well last month.
Today when I tried to launch SMM, I found that it needs updating. And I suppose due to winarm system, I could not update it automatically, I could not manually install the new version either.
Could someone help me? thx
P1: the terminal shows when launching special version of SMM
P2: the windows dev tool shows when launching special version of SMM
P3: The current SMM in my PC cannot update automatically. Everywhere in my screen is un-clickable
P4: what I get when I manually download and install SMM

The reason why it's not updating is that it's a a standalone debug build, not an installer build. Can you send a link of where you got that build from? I'm pretty sure it's just some build I made for someone to debug an offline mode issue, but it doesn't have any different arm support (windows on arm should support x86 executables). But looking in the installer code, it does try to extract an arm build (which doesn't exist) if it detects that the OS is arm
Hi, bro. I've just tracked my browser history. It should be this version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QHScNNfUDZa597-gsxRDZ7m1VVbagT2q/view
And FYI, neither in last month nor today could I install SMM in a regular way. It's not the developers' fault.
DONT BUY WINDOWS ON ARM!

SatisfactoryModManager.exe
Yup, that is indeed a build from me
Try this installer build https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nFg41nyHJVT3kmq_bkEspczd3J3NkbrZ/view?usp=sharing

SatisfactoryModManager-Setup-fix-arm.exe
no working..:Sadge:
In the October build, I got a SatisfactoryModManager.exe straight away without installation. And this build I still cant install it. Something went wrong during the installing process
uninstall the SMM and try again with administrator privs
ARM is that a raspberry pi youre installing into?
I don't see anything going wrong there, what exactly went wrong?
everytime I try to download and install SMM in a normal way, it indeed says ' Installation Complete', but actually I can just get one uninstall.exe and an icon.
I have tried with/without administrator, with/without for all user. It just doesn't work
Ah, I see
:Sadge:
I'm afraid I don't know how the installer works, so @Mircea (Area Actions) would have to look into it
thank you all
I'm honestly surprised the game can even run on an ARM-based Surface Laptop 👀
After I've bought this laptop, I discovered that games fall into 3 catogories:
A: Unplayable
B: Playable( need some struggle)
C: perfectly playable
luckily the game itself is a B, I searched the Internet and changed some setting about directx and it launched succesfully
DOTA2 is C and League of Legends is A
I forgot to actually make the change... I just copied the original code without actually removing the native x86 check...
Solution
Uploaded another build, same link
Great, totally solved the problem, thank you❤️
