brand rec for interesting shorts
this is going to be terribly broad but im looking for something like pleated shorts, jorts, cargo shorts. Basically trying to take my shorts in a street wear direction

Supreme, No Maintenance, Basketcase, if you want streetwear you go to either streetwear brands, or to stores that curate with a streetwear eye (Bodega, Anti-thesis, Kith)

yeah smiles mostly hit it on the head. i think for pleated shorts CDG might be a worthwhile looksie
jorts and cargos kinda just depends on your taste. ik the 3/4ths cargo jort length is super popular but your tastes might differ
