imo either tucked into your pants with a jacket on top or wear it with equally oversized pants to make it look intentional.

Probably like a chore coat or a denim jacket? Even a heavier overshirt or a flannel could work depending on the pants.

Maybe? Hard to know without seeing the flannel first. Put it on and see how you like it and if you're still not sure send a pic of the fit

IMO henleys only work as baselayers, so put smth on top of it.

nah I think they work as a great alternative to a polo shirt in a lot of situations especially if you want a longsleeve
