when i make scrollwheel go down, the scrollbar goes down and the page goes up
this is reverse
wise-white•4mo ago
reverse is content scrolls with the scrollbar
natural is content scrolls in the opposite direction to the scrollbar

this is just what the page said

when i make my finger go towards the direction my monitor is, which i assume is UP on the scrollwheel, the scrollbar goes up but the content goes down
oh yeah this is legit the same thing
unless im severely misunderstanding
wise-white•4mo ago
when you scroll up do you see stuff you previously saw or new content
broad-brown•4mo ago
previous
wise-white•4mo ago
so reversed
broad-brown•4mo ago
yes
wise-white•4mo ago
the default way on windows
broad-brown•4mo ago
so i did understand right!! why did we go through this
wise-white•4mo ago
the non-default way on all apple devices
and on all phones
broad-brown•4mo ago
i understand natural scroll for
touchscreen devices
but not with scrollwheel
wise-white•4mo ago
yeah with touchscreen it does feel natural because its as if you were dragging the content with your finger
on scrollwheel it feels weird to me
broad-brown•4mo ago
yeah
im so used to reversed scroll cause windows, i would hate switching to natural for scrollwheels
wise-white•4mo ago
because i imagine controlling the scrollbar not the content when i use the wheel
broad-brown•4mo ago
its just muscle memory for me honestly. "hm, if i wanna go back, i go up, and if i wanna see next, i go down"
wise-white•4mo ago
same
thats why i suggested inverse scroll setting for sandboxels a while back
i couldnt get used to going the opposite way
i never even noticed because it’s just how macs work
felt more natural to me
passive-yellow•4mo ago
i use the same way mobile goes
it just feels right for me
that’s natural
xenial-black•4mo ago
oh so thats what i use then
i just go with whatever's default cuz i can't be bothered
natural is like dragging the page, reverse is like scrolling in the direction u want to go
robust-apricot•4mo ago
What’s natural
I just use the scrollwheel to go where I want to go
wise-white•4mo ago
I know
I don't use macs tho
like-gold•4mo ago
Why do you use it
broad-brown•4mo ago
because its the default in windows
yelping-magenta•4mo ago
reverse
just feels more natural
correct-apricot•4mo ago
I STRONGLY PREFER REVERSE SCROLLING
