obs replay buffer
best for quality (if you have a high end pc) is probably obs replay buffer
i personally like medal, because you dont really need to get into the whole "how to set up a clipping software" think, you just install it and its ready to clip stuff. also you can just check one of those three options in the screenshot, making the audio setup very easy too
yeah it is a bit more technical but i will say they made it easier to setup ( i think its just an option in the settings now)
as for obs its still a bit more complicated to generally set up everything imo
i have both obs rep buffer and medal running, medal for the pure game clips and obs for the content clips with some extra stuff
what ever the nvidia thingi is :val_HeyApple:
also it depends on what exactly you want to do with the clips.
if you just clip it to show to people as a raw clip, you can just upload the clips to medal (they wont take any storage away then).
with obs replay buffer you will have the full clips stored somewhere on your pc (taking much storage) (same goes for nvidia clips lyra smh)
just as a sidenote: i make 5 minute clips with obs (in 720p but with 50mb bitrate) and they take up about 1.74GB per clip
yeah tahts fair
medal is less effort without all of obs's special features
and obs is cool but it takes a bitg more effort
jst depends on what youre looking for
especially if youre looking for cloud storage you wuld have to upload all of ur clips to likie google drive or whatever manually when using obs
but medal does it instnatly i think
oh yeah and last thing is if youre trying to lke show clips to ur friends on discord youre going to have to compress your videos on obs like a ton (unless u got disord nitro) or upload it to youtube or smt like that (which is a pain)
butr medal's clips are stored remotely so it retains its quality and is easier to share
hopefully u can fuind the one that suits u best with allat
this!
with obs you just have the full video file (depending on the recording settings they can be pretty large, even for a 5 seconds clip lol)
with medal all you have to do is press "upload" after being able to edit the clip the way you want to (with the built in editor!) and you just have a link to share
